Help every manager improve employee
engagement, team cohesion and performance

The Employee-Centric Manager Upward Feedback Survey and Training Program by Dr. Jack Wiley is a proven solution for helping every manager in your organization understand and deliver what their direct reports want and need most to succeed. Unlike one-size-fits-all manager training, Dr. Wiley’s program is diagnostic, focusing on the unique needs of each manager and includes specific guidance on how to make behavioral improvements.

Assess: The 180-Degree Upward Feedback Survey provides personalized input for improvement

The 180-Degree Upward Feedback Survey assesses the extent to which managers display the eight attributes comprising the employee-centric manager. These attributes directly relate to work experience, employee engagement, internal team cohesion and performance. Dr. Wiley created a 65-item, 180-degree upward feedback survey that measures all eight attributes and overall performance. For each of these factors, employees are asked to provide, in their own words, recommendations for one thing that their manager could do to improve on the measured factor.

“The difference between vision and execution often depends on the effectiveness of managers in engaging and motivating their direct reports. The Employee-Centric Manager Training Program has proven to be a powerful tool in helping us achieve our stated vision for the Honeywell Foundation.”

—TOD MINNICH, CEO
HONEYWELL FOUNDATION

Report: Managers see what employees want and need most from them to succeed

A personalized report is generated on how each manager is doing with regard to the 8 attributes of employee-centric management. The subordinate raters’ scores are presented and compared with how the managers rated themselves. Managers gain awareness of how their employees view them. The report allows managers to compare every attribute and overall performance to what is typical in terms of how managers are rated.

Train: In-person training, delivered by Dr. Wiley, provides a roadmap for personal improvement

The training program helps managers understand the importance of being an employee-centric manager and describes in detail for each attribute what employees want and do not want from them. Managers learn how they are rated by their direct reports on each attribute and overall performance which helps them to identify their priorities for improvement. Managers use these insights to develop an on-target action plan for improvement, which they share with their immediate supervisor to create increased accountability.
